Our Village 2050:
Vision Workshops

What is the purpose of the workshops?

The Curdridge and Curbridge Vision 2050 workshops are an opportunity for those who live and work in the parish to offer views on what they believe is the future for the villages. This will help to establish a shared vision for the villages. We live in a special place and the Council wants to promote a sense of community across both villages, and to protect all that makes Curdridge and Curbridge places where people want to live and visit.

In order for the Parish Council to best represent those in the two villages, we need input and direction from parishioners. With your help, we can establish a vision for the next 30 years that will help the Council to support parishioners and promote a thriving community where people want to live and work and be involved in their community.

What will be discussed?

We have pre-selected a number of discussion topics which we hope parishioners will want to share their views about. You can read more about the topics by clicking through on the tiles below.  The goal is to allow the Parish Council to establish a consensus for the future vision for the villages.

What will happen after the workshops?

All the contributions will be collated with the responses from a village wide questionnaire, giving a database of all the replies. These answers will then be included in a further consultation with parishioners, with the aim of establishing a shared “2050 Vision” for our village.

The Council’s aspiration is to share the “2050 Vision” with all parishioners in the first half of 2024. We could formalise this in a Neighbourhood Plan that would become a material consideration for all future development. A Neighbourhood Plan, if properly prepared and supported by the entire community, can be a powerful tool to get local views considered in determining planning applications. It is only by working together that we can protect our villages and their unique rural feel - despite the scale of development in the nearby areas.
